The Alpha 200 Plus handheld transmitter from Garmin merges many of the efficiencies found in the more expensive Alpha 300 series handhelds such as 55 hours of runtime and USB C charging.  With line of sight tracking range of up to 9 miles, you have the ability to track and train up to twenty dogs at great distances when monitoring the color 3.5″ touchscreen display and up to 2.5 second update rate.  Six programable buttons allow you to customize the controls exactly the way you like them.  Wireless automatic updates via WiFi ensure you are getting the most updated functionality.

The Alpha 200 Plus button-operated design lets you deliver training commands — from 18 levels of stim, tone and vibration — to your paired training-enabled dog collars. Access premium Garmin navigation features, such as preloaded TopoActive maps, satellite imagery and a built-in 3-axis compass and barometric altimeter. Plus, use dog list storage for up to 250 dogs in the device’s memory to easily manage your active groups so you don’t have to manually reenter dogs’ names for every hunt. Better still, up to 55 hours of battery life means you don’t have to worry about running out of power before your dogs do.

I personally use the compass screen when bird hunting and training which allows me to see up to three dogs on one screen providing distance and direction, run and point status, and the ability to correct.  We utilize Momentary, Continuous and Tone from left to right across the top three buttons.  Easily change the dog that needs correction by scrolling through the active dogs using the side up/down buttons.  Don’t forget to set-up your device up using the New Hunt Icon in the Main Menu.  Using this set-up tool, you can easily manage the dog collars that will be active on your hunt, accumulate or reset metrics such as speed and milage, and mark your vehicle so that it shows up along with all active dog pointers on your compass screen.  It’s just that easy to set up and explore the vast opportunities while hunting new or familiar ground.  A direct path back to your vehicle is easily accomplished by following the vehicle pointer on the compass screen when it’s time switch out dogs or move to a new location.  We encourage you to reach out to us and we will help you customize your device settings for your particular needs.  We do this one-one over the phone after you have received your shipment from Front Range Gun Dog.
